Meet SHADOW
BREED(s): Pitbull

How in the world have we not found his perfect match yet?
There are a few things at the top of SHADOW'S forever home wishlist. He would love for his humans to be home more often than not. No, he is not destructive when home alone...but he is 100% a velcro dog. You certainly do not need to be home all the time, but he would not be happy in a home where he is home alone for 8+ hours a day. Also, he LIVES to sleep in bed with humans. Yes, sounds very picky...but hey...every dog deserves what makes them happiest.
SHADOW is simply one of the BEST dogs we have ever had the pleasure of fostering! He is about 2 years old and weighs about 60 lbs. We cannot believe he is still available!

He is a total velcro dog and has been named SHADOW for a reason...likes to be by your side! And just like a true pitty, he prefers to sleep in and stay warm and cozy under the blankets.

Meet SADIE
BREED(s): Golden/Hound Mix
GENDER: Female
AGE: Approximately 4 years old
DESCRIPTION:
Meet SADIE (undergoing heart worm treatment)!
SADIE is a gorgeous Golden mix, about 4-5 years old and weighs about 50 lbs.
Her foster mom reports that SADIE is a very sweet, loving girl who stays by her side all around the house. She is wonderful with people who come visit, and usually has them charmed within minutes!
On walks, she does get overly excited about seeing people and other dogs which is very different than her at-home personality.
She is a very easy keeper and enjoys her walks, but she is also very content just lounging around the house with her foster family.
She knows basic commands, is potty trained and is non-destructive.
SADIE ignores cats and prefers calm dogs, or would be just as happy as the only dog in the home as well. She is all about her people.
SADIE is heart worm positive and has already started treatment. The remainder of her treatment is scheduled at Clinton Vet Hospital on November 21st and December 21st/22nd. But she is available for adoption now! All expenses for her treatment are already paid in full.
Spayed/Vaccinated.

Meet KAUAI
BREED(s): Chihuahua Mix
GENDER: Female
AGE: Approximately 8 years old
DESCRIPTION:
It's always a roller coaster ride in rescue! Just getting through Rosie's surgery...and now it's KAUAI who needs the exact same thing!
KAUAI was adopted a couple of weeks ago, but unfortunately it didn't work out with little grandkids in the picture. KAUAI is a little too nervous around young children, she takes a minute to warm up and that's just part of her personality. But if you give her a little time to come around...she will be all over you like glue and will be full of kisses and cuddles!
But the even worse news is...a few lumps had gone undetected in previous examinations.
KAUAI has mammary masses just like Rosie, and will she will be going in to have them removed on December 14th with our friends at Clinton Veterinary Hospital.
The good news about mammary tumors is, they can usually be completely removed with clear margins. Benign or malignant, either way...they will be totally removed.
The cost is estimated at $1,600-$2,000 which is a huge expense for a small rescue group like ours.

Meet Koa
BREED(s): Chihuahua Mix
GENDER: Male
AGE: Approximately 1 year old

How nice it would be if KOA could find a home in time for the holidays! It would definitely be the very first holiday he has ever spent with a loving family. Please...someone just give him a chance!
No one has even set up a meet and greet with this little guy...we sure hope someone special steps up and gives him a chance soon!
KOA'S story is gut wrenching.
He was found abandoned and bleeding to death after his tail was ruthlessly cut off. This little guy is still just a puppy at only 7 months to a year old, but his short traumatic past will leave some physical and mental scars.
His tail has been mended by the vet, but because it was cut so short, that without medication, he will experience phantom nerve pain and and night terrors. This pain and trauma is regulated (and is working!) with daily gabapentin which is a very inexpensive medication.
He will run around and play, but will randomly screech if not on medication. We think he probably spent most of his young life living in crate prior to being abandoned, as this is where he is most comfortable as of now.
We are hoping someone patient and understanding will come along and help reshape this boy's future so that he can begin to leave his past behind.
KOA weighs about 12 lbs. and is a chi mix. He is very grateful to be safe and cared for in foster care now, and day by day he is beginning to relax the feeling of being safe.
