Steph Redgate’s Fund
my mom…

My mom raised me crawling under porches to rescue stray kittens, running quickly into the road to snatch a wandering snapping turtle from being hit by a car, hanging over a wooden fence in Chincoteague, Virginia to watch the wild ponies, fishing through a pool-turned-pond at my uncle’s house to rescue all of the frogs before they came to fill the pool in.

I don’t know of a world where we aren’t going out of our way to save some animals, even if everyone thought it was crazy.

My mom has been fostering dogs since before I was born. I can’t even count how many dogs have come through home and were treated as a part of our family before being connected with their perfect forever families.

All 4 of our family pets are fosters fails – some of which are from Murphy’s Paw.

Since my mom left us 5 days ago, I’ve received countless messages from friends, family, neighbors, and people I’ve never met showing me photos of their furry family members that my mom helped connect them with.

We also found out my mom has “adopted” 3 wild sea turtles (and tracks them on her phone) and that she’s the “partial owner” of a wild pony on Chincoteague Island.

My mom lives on everywhere in all of my sunniest places and in the lives of all of the people and animals that she’s touched.

Since my mom passed, my brother Eric, my dad, and I all decided we wanted to start something for my mom that she would be really proud of. It was never a question that it would involve rescuing animals.

In lieu of flowers for her services, we would love if donations could be made to my mom’s fund – Steph’s Fund. We want this to be an evergreen foundation that helps her live on and help Murphy’s Paw Rescue spread their love far and wide with her help.

We can’t thank you enough for loving my mom and letting her love you.

Thank you.
